CA ESL Learning Community
- San Jose City College -
Welcome to our Learning Community web page.
Please read this page to obtain the latest information about our class.
As the semester progresses, information will be added to this page.
Welcome to our Learning
Community of ESL 322 and Computer Applications (CA) 302, 303, and 306.
As students in a Learning Community, you are expected to enroll in both
the ESL and CA courses. This particular Learning Community gives
you the opportunity to learn about computers and, at the same time, a
chance to study the technical vocabulary associated with the computer
field. You will also have an opportunity to write about issues associated
with computers.
By enrolling in this Learning Community,
you will have a head start when you seek employment in the computer field.
After you finish the course work associated with these courses, you will
be more familiar with how computers are used in industry, what the basic
terms mean, how to use the Internet to find information and how to describe
these tasks to others. And, most importantly, you will be able to write
and explain to others what computer tasks you perform each day on your
job. This ability will help to ensure your continued success in finding
and keeping a job in the "high-tech" field. We believe you will
find the time spent in this Learning Community to be both exciting and
profitable.
